Customer Service Representative

Summary: Takes telephone or customer walk-in orders for flat glass as well as files orders,  orders parts and schedules for mobile or in-house jobs by performing the following duties. 

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.  

  1. Communicates with contractors, homeowners, businesses and other retail customers for  flat glass orders via telephone or walk-in. 
  2. Schedules flat glass orders. 
  3. Orders, receives and verifies parts. 
  4. Prepares documentation and inputs documentation into the computer system. 5. Communicates with flat glass technicians. 
  5. Answers multi-line telephone system, takes accurate messages as well as screens and  directs telephone calls for management in a professional manner. 
  6. Keeps work area stocked and organized. 
  7. Monitors voicemail. 
  8. Disposes of all trash at the end of the day. 
  9. Stocks bathrooms as needed and disposes of trash on a daily basis. 
  10. Takes deposits for orders and payments for orders being picked up. 
  11. Abides by the company’s “Drug Free Workplace” Policy.

Education/Experience: 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and  experience. 

Language Ability: 

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write  simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations  to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 

Math Ability: 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions,  and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 

Reasoning Ability:  

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram  form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. 

Computer Skills:  

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of internet software.
